To our new Omaha Benson Family!
On behalf of Omaha Benson’s Athletic Department, I want to welcome you (students and parents) to our boys’ basketball program and ALL sports programs here at Omaha Benson! Sports provide outstanding opportunities to grow both emotionally and as an individual in preparation for college or life in general. Additionally, sports provide experiences and lessons that will help you develop sills in time management, problem solving, delegation, motivation and team building.
Omaha Benson participates in athletics as a member of the Metropolitan High Schools Activities Association under the umbrella of the NSAA (National Sports Athletic Association). These governing bodies provide the rules and regulations that oversee our participation.
As a member of the Omaha Benson athletic family, our expectations for you are the same as your own family’s expectations. Act responsibly as you represent our school district and serve as an ambassador for everyone who attends our school. How you act and react to situations reflects not only on you, but also on your parents and peers. As a student athlete, you have academic behavior and athletic responsibilities. Take pride in the opportunity to represent all of us in a first-class manner.
The Omaha Benson boys’ basketball program philosophy is that; the student athlete’s pursuits on the court should be equally measured with your efforts off of the court. You will have a great deal of responsibility. We strive to maintain an outstanding athletics programs that sets an example for good sportsmanship. Without question, our primary concern is the education and personal conduct of our students involved in athletics and we expect you to act accordingly. As we welcome you to the family, we want you to take advantage of this opportunity to receive a top-notch high school education while participating in our sports programs.
Please remember that the teachers, paraprofessionals, coaches and administrators are here to assist YOU in helping yourself. Our goal is to help you succeed in life. Once you have graduated from Omaha Benson, we hope you will remain involved with the school as a member of the alumni association or otherwise.
